How to Apply
Academia Tocqueville 2025 will take place from June 29th to July 11th, 2025.
Applications open at the end of December, and application review begins February 28th.
The seminar is open to advanced undergraduates, graduate students, & young professionals who are working in an area related to the seminar’s topic.
Space is limited; early applications will be given priority.
Submit an application containing the following to contact@academia-tocqueville.org
- One-page statement of interest;
- CV;
- Names and contact of two references, and at least one letter of recommendation. Please arrange to have letters sent to contact@academia-
tocqueville.org before the deadline.
The application deadline for the seminar is February 28th, 2025. Applicants can expect to receive a decision by mid-March, 2025. Space is limited so apply early.

Location
The Seminar takes place in Paris with classes in Saint-Germain-des-Prés (Paris, 6e arrondissement) in a historic venue. Accommodation will be provided on site.
Meals
Meals will be provided throughout the seminar, though lunches and dinners will not be provided on the afternoons and evenings when participants are free to explore Paris on their own.
Cost
A registration fee of $800 / 750€ (for students) or $1000 / 950€ (for young professionals) is requested for overhead purposes and represents a small fraction of the true cost of the program. Reading material will be made available free of charge to the accepted applicants a month before the seminar. Some scholarships are available to assist students in financial need.
Travel
Participants are expected to arrange their own travel to Paris.
